About Kaimoo

Built in the Maldives. Built to endure.

Since 1979, Kaimoo Resorts & Hotels has operated with a philosophy shaped by continuity, local ownership, and long-term hospitality thinking.

What began with a single island resort became one of the Maldives' enduring hospitality groups.

History

The story began before the Maldives became a global destination.

Kaimoo opened Embudu Village in 1979 during the earliest years of organised tourism in the Maldives.

At the time, the industry was small, uncertain, and largely unmapped. There were no comparison platforms. No curated itineraries. No global booking systems built around optimised conversion. Just islands, ocean, and the commitment to welcome people into them.

Over the decades that followed, Kaimoo expanded carefully across the archipelago while maintaining a consistent operating philosophy rooted in warmth, practicality, and long-term guest relationships.

Today, the company operates five properties across resort, urban, and southern atoll hospitality categories.

Values

What continues to guide the company.

01

Continuity

Trust built slowly across decades.

02

Warmth

Human hospitality over scripted performance.

03

Stewardship

Respect for the marine environment and the islands that sustain the company.

04

Restraint

Confidence without excess.

Maldivian Ownership

Wholly Maldivian owned.

Kaimoo remains rooted in the country that shaped it.

Its perspective on hospitality emerges not from imported narratives, but from long-term familiarity with the rhythms, geography, and people of the Maldives.
